Writer’s Picks
These are some recent albums/artists that I’m thrilled to share. You can keep track of the new music I’m loving by following my 2024 Albums playlist on Spotify:
St. Vincent - All Born Screaming
With Coachella happening in April, most of my listening was dedicated to the live space and getting myself hyped for the festival. The only new release I dove into was Annie’s new album.
I’m not sure if I’ve elucidated the degree of my St. Vincent fandom to my newsletter audience, but let’s just say I have a tattoo of her logo on my fingers.
For this album, she took the sounds inside her head and put them on the record. This album also includes my favorite song she’s ever written: “Broken Man.” Transitive property. If the sounds inside her head lead to my favorite song of hers, our musical connection runs deep.
